Mr. Robert Dumas

Senior Chorus Director, Vocal Ensemble, Vocal Techniques

Mr. Robert Dumas is a summa cum laude graduate of the Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam (2007) with a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education and Performer’s Certificate in Voice; MM in Music Education from Ithaca College (2011). Robert currently lives in Oswego, NY where he is the Oswego High School Vocal Music Teacher conducting three curricular choirs, teaching music theory, serving as the Music Director for the Musical and Drama Club Advisor, and k-12 Music Department Team Leader. Previously he was the Director of Choirs at Southside High School and Music Director at the First Presbyterian Church in Elmira, NY.

 

Earlier in the summer, Robert works as a conductor with American Music Abroad on the Gold Tour – working with high school students from all over the east coast performing in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, Italy, and the Czech Republic. Other guest conducting work includes all-counties and Area All-States in Upstate NY.

 

It was during the Summer of 1999 that Mr. Dumas first attended Bristol Hills Music Camp – as a Camper; he has been at camp ever since! Following high school graduation, he came on board as a counselor in 2004. Since joining the faculty in 2008, he has taught sight-singing, Jr. High Chorus, served as an accompanist, and currently teaches Jr. High Vocal Tech and co-conducts the Sr. High Chorus and Vocal Ensemble. BHMC is a second home for Mr. Dumas and he looks forward to camp week each and every year!
